Handwritten draft copy and handwritten corrected copy of Samuel H. Lockett's Fourth Annual Report of Topographical Survey of Louisiana, conducted for Louisiana State University (1872). This report includes descriptions of 13 selected parishes in North and Central Louisiana and the 8 parishes along the Mississippi River between Ascension Parish and Plaquemines Parish. The report probably was preliminary to his writing of "Louisiana as it is, a geographical and topographical description of the state" (1873).
